The Switch, Part 1
I'm sure that most people have at one time have dreamed of the day that they could quit their job and start their own company. I remember sitting at my desk feeling trapped, stuck at a dead end, and caged creatively. What could I do? I was not happy and I did not know how much longer I could go on like that. Life is too short for me to sit at my desk and wait for the day to be over. I should have been embracing each day and living life to the fullest. So… I researched the market, found a niche for myself, threw caution to the wind and made "the switch."

7 months later…
These past 7 months have been an amazing experience. During this short time I have completed a wide variety of design projects, expanded my creativity, and took control of my life. Now I get to meet and work with new people from all over the Bay Area. It is refreshing to work with several different companies, whether their project is a complete brand redesign or working within their corporate guidelines. I am learning many lessons as I go and will continue to learn — as I have just begun my career as a self-employed graphic designer. The first lesson I've learned is to do what you love and if you are not, then you are doing the wrong thing.
